在中国，“同性恋”因为中国以“家庭为导向”的传统文化、以及现有政治方面的种种原因，而受到漠视和歧视，从而导致“男同志”人群普遍的在接受关于“如何预防艾滋病”的知识和技能习得方面，长期遭受着巨大的挑战，但是另一方面，随着互联网的普及、以及中国经济和城市的快速进程化，“男同志们”，又是如此容易的可以得到想要的“性”。
